Higher education in many schools and industries is experiencing a serious decline in the number of full-time students registering for exams and admission. For the faculty of the Faculty of Resource Management, the current state of higher education in society is both a challenge and a good condition for the Faculty and the University to perfect and standardize training and research activities. scientific research towards international standards.

  1.

-Reduce investments from the budget, reduce tuition fees...

-The Faculty and the University have time conditions to standardize the program framework (associated with the output standards)

  1.

- Standardize subject outlines and teaching materials

- Towards international standards in training and research

Faculty of Resource Management, Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry, after 20 years of construction and development (2001 - 2021), has built a reputation as well as a brand in training, scientific research, and technology transfer with other provinces and regions. northern mountains. Besides the extremely remarkable results, we also need to frankly assess the challenges/difficulties and exploit the potential in scientific research and technology transfer in the northern mountainous provinces.

According to statistics, in the period 2015-2020 (6 years): Faculty of Natural Resources Management chaired the implementation of 37 topics and projects. In which, the ministry level has 05 tasks, accounting for 13.5%, the provincial level has 30 tasks, accounting for 81%, the university level has 2 tasks, accounting for 5.5% of the total project topics. Thus, on average, the faculty chaired 6.3 topics/projects at all levels in one year. The total number of lecturers of the faculty is 25 people, so each year 3.8 people carry out 01 topic/project.

Rate of science and technology tasks at all levels for the period 2015-2021

Northern mountainous area includes 14 provinces, divided into 02 regions: Northwest includes 04 provinces (Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau and Hoa Binh); The Northeast consists of 10 provinces (Bac Giang, Bac Kan, Cao Bang, Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang and Yen Bai). In the period 2015-2020, Faculty of Natural Resources Management has chaired topics/projects in 07/14 provinces with the number of project topics respectively: Thai Nguyen (13); Bac Kan (7); Yen Bai (6); Ha Giang (2); Cao Bang (1), Lang Son (1), Phu Tho (1). Also in the past 6 years, 07 provinces of Faculty have not had any topic/project to implement: Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau and Hoa Binh, Bac Giang, Quang Ninh, and Lao Cai.

  1.

- The teaching force is well-trained and has high professional qualifications

-Geographical distance

  1.

-Human resources, administrative facilities of the whole school

-Increasing requirements for product quality

- The Faculty has a very close connection with localities (former student)

- Limited number of topics/projects and budgets

  1.

-There is a force of young enthusiastic students

-There is a lot of competition between research institutes, schools/companies, businesses.

  1.

-Lack of communication and coordination -> waste of time, ideas and costs -> lack of professionalism and specialization.

Promoting the experience of the unit in scientific research and technology transfer over the years, in the coming time, in parallel with the implementation of protocol projects, ministerial-level projects, scientific research funds in the field of science and technology. national and international... the Faculty of Natural Resources Management will also continue to exploit the potential in research and transfer of science and technology in the northern mountainous provinces. The faculty and researchers of the faculty have always identified three main criteria for the faculty to propose and preside over the implementation of provincial science and technology tasks:

(1)-The provincial science and technology tasks explain theoretical and practical issues in the general development orientation of the province or respond in a practical and effective way to the pressing needs of science and technology in the process. socio-economic development, security and defense protection in the province.

(2)-Solving science and technology problems within the province: S&T tasks must be new, creative and advanced compared to the current situation in the province and be feasible. The determination of the objectives and objects of the S&T task must be based on an objective assessment of the current state of S&T development in the province, the achievements of S&T development in the country and in the world, the province's S&T resources and the ability to combine them with science and technology. cooperate with research and training agencies, other provinces and cities.
